That's not the jump in earthed 4, the yup in earthed 4 had a wooden take off and is a step up on the nationals track http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/3450090/ the jump in the this is the step up to the freeride track, similar jumps with the same terian on the same hill, but on different tracks
Clay is being very clever at drip feeding us snippets of film to wet our appetites for the full feature. I hope (I'm sure) it will live up to the expectations that this hype has caused.
hopefuly..cuz if i give money on this one, and its as sh*itty as Life Cycles was..im never buying another movie ever again...sorry, but haters, lets be honest, LC was a film made to show u what the CAMERA can do, not what the bike can do....and im not even going to start to talk about all those useless effects they used on that film..
What's with the Life Cycles hate? I thought it was absolutely brilliant. If you watched LC to see the sickest dirt jumping around then you're the problem. I wanted to see a finely crafted piece of art and I got what I was looking for.
On topic: Clay Porter is really good, can't wait to watch that one.
man, I loved Life Cycles, mostly because its not a bike film, its a film about the bike and the cycle of life... so all the story behind it made it look good... the hi-def cameras just make it look even better! but you're right, its a not a film that will make you want to go out and ride.. its more like a chill and enjoyable film... another nice thing is that you dont need to be with your bike mates to watch it, everybody likes it. If I want to get stoked, I go for the Earthed's and Freecaster's with all the downhill racing in it... just my opinion
Life Cycles was never advertised as a film for awesome riding. You read into it wrong and thats your own fault.
Your arguments for Life Cycles being shit are like saying Funny People is a shit film just because it has Adam Sandler in it so you were expecting slapstick comedy. Life Cycles was never meant to be about pushing the boundaries of riding - It was about pushing the boundaries of film-making (Which it did spectacularly). Its about time biking films branched out into sub-genres and thats exactly what Life Cycles accomplished.
like how could life cycles makes you not wanna go ride , it inspires me to go out and build some stuff . the way its shot with all the cables , the angles , the scenery and epicness of the moment . and,i think that , the riding is sick and way better than most of us out there .
I think what was so good about Life cycles was how you could relate to it as a rider: how your local trails look with each season, trail building, road trips, broken bikes etc. Films like Follow Me and NWD make me go "wow that shits insane yo, Cam McCaul is such a ripper" but LC makes me like "yeah this is what it's all about". (Plus the riding in LC was awesome anyway.)
the music choice was horrific in life cycles, didnt suit the riding at all
riding is supposed to be about enjoying yourself and life cycles didnt portray that with their music choice, especially the transition into winter
not to mention the unbelievably cheesy narrator, talking about the bike. Why not talk about the rider and what he goes through when riding (broken bones etc)? not about the bikes forks breaking or snapping a deraillieur , that doesnt mean sh#t
Jesus christ! I'm trying to work here... and you go on posting 3 minute gaps vid's again, and again! I'm having a hard time defending why I'm always leaving early these days - but I have to go ride my bike now!
Awesome, can't wait to see the full length version of this bad boy...The track with the step up is located on private farm land called Long Gully in Wellington and is named 420,just 'cause it's sooo good to session I'm stoked to see the track I've spent years developing make it into another international film segment Here is a link to a full head cam run if you want check it out-http://contour.com/stories/long-gully-sunday-shuttles
